Susanna Keefer is a private chef and caterer known for elegant comfort food and exceptional client service who is captivated by each market stand, spice pile and street food cart she encounters. Susanna founded Susanna’s Catering in 2003 in Morrisville, VT after working at some of Stowe’s finest restaurants including Villa Tragara and Mes Amis. She launched Susanna’s To-Go in 2020 as a way to bring her globally-inspired cuisine to a wider audience.
Born and raised in the south of England, Susanna was introduced to the culinary arts as a child on yearly family trips to France. She has worked as a chef on luxury barges touring Burgundy and the Loire Valley and, and as the head chef on a fleet of privately owned sailing and motor yachts throughout the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and North Atlantic.
Her travel adventures throughout Europe, India, Africa, Australia, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean have inspired her approach to cooking. Adopting the unique flavors and ingenuity of each culture’s cuisine with bold imagination and plentiful Vermont products, she creates authentically flavored dishes and multicultural feasts for every occasion, simple or grand. She relishes working with local farm and food producers. Fascinated by the healing powers of food and communal eating, Susanna is currently studying Nutrition and Health Living at Cornell University Online. Her mission is to enhance the diets and brighten the lives of her customers through the power of real food made with love.
